Today we’re excited to announce a powerful new feature: Box for Shibumi.  The combination of Shibumi’s structured context with Box’s managed content means companies will be able to manage business initiatives better than ever.

As we wrote about in our last post, content is a huge part of managing work and tracking goals.  Working effectively with your team means information has to be up to date and easy to find.  That’s where Box comes in.

Box was founded on a simple, powerful idea: people should be able to access and share their content from anywhere. This has enabled Box to help more than 15 million individuals, small businesses and Fortune 500 companies.

Married with our vision of making business execution as easy as possible, Box for Shibumi is a killer app every business can use.

When adding an attachment you’ll now see a Box tab. With a few simple clicks, you’ll be able to view, sort and search all your Box files directly from Shibumi. Select one or more and they’ll instantly be attached, right where you need them.

Easy & Secure

We wanted to make sure it is as easy as possible to reference Box content from Shibumi, but also just as easy to keep everything secure.

When selecting content from Box, you’ll see the same three security options as you would in Box:

  • Open
  • Your Company
  • Collaborators Only

Using these options, you can set Box security settings right as you attach files.  This way you can keep content as secure as it needs to be, and clarify who can access it.

Document Nirvana: Box Sync + Shibumi

For even more Box goodness, check out Box Sync.  This tiny (and free!) application will keep files on your computer, tablet and phone perfectly synced with Box, automatically, every time you save.

That means that as soon as you’ve saved your work, you can access Shibumi, add the file as an attachment from Box, and everything else is taken care of.  And because additional changes are all saved up to Box as well, worrying about multiple versions of a document are a thing of the past.

We’d love your feedback

As always, please let us know how you feel about this new feature, and any other thoughts you have about Shibumi.  You can always click the “Feedback” tab from anywhere in the app, so don’t be shy – we’d love to hear from you.
